2023 Process Timeline
October through December 2022
The Student Services Fee Committee (SSFC) is formed. During this time, the committee meets to train members in the process. Fee recipients will be notified of the specific timeline.January through February 2023
Health Services, Kirby Student Center, and Recreational Sports and Outdoor Programs will make presentations and budget proposals to the SSFC. The SSFC will have deliberations and develop follow up questions for the departments. The deadline for Health Services, Kirby, and RSOP proposals will be due January 20, 2023. The presentation date(s) will be January 25 and 26, 2023. All proposals must be submitted to: [email protected]
All other departments and student organizations designated as Campus Life Programs (CLPs) will submit proposal and budget templates to the SSFC. The SSFC will have deliberations and develop follow up questions for the organizations. The deadline for Campus Life Programs (CLPs) and other department proposals will be due January 26, 2023. The presentation date will be Saturday, February 11, 2023. The presentation schedule will be announced in January. All proposals must be submitted to: [email protected]
The SSFC continues to meet to develop the recommendations that will be made to the UMD Chancellor.
The SSFC will make their recommendations to Interim Chancellor McMillan through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Life. The recommendations will be made in March 2023, according to a deadline set by system leadership.
Appeals made by any organization will be reviewed. Written appeals need to be submitted to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Life. The deadline for appeals will be communicated to CLPs and departments along with committee recommendations. The UMD Chancellor will submit the final recommendations to the University Of Minnesota Board Of Regents. This process must be completed in time for the May agenda for the Board of Regents.
Appeals Process
- Organizations may appeal SSF recommendations on grounds that these guidelines were not followed by the Committee in making recommendations. Appeals are to be submitted in writing to the Vice Chancellor for Student Life. The Vice Chancellor’s decisions on appeals are considered final. Information on the appeals process will be published at the same time as the committee's recommendations.
- Following resolution of appeals, the recommendations are forwarded to the Chancellor for final approval and for submission to the Board of Regents.
Process Review
The SSFC, fee-receiving units, and fee-paying students will have the opportunity to provide feedback annually at the end of the fee-allocation process.
